About Us
College Park has been serving students in the Kempsville section of Virginia Beach since it's opening in 1973. Rebuilt in 2011, College Park now offers state of the art facilities to over 500 students. The new school won the Sustainable School Recognition Award for the 2011-2012 school year. It is College Park Elementary School's vision that "Every student is fully engaged in the school community, guided and empowered to achieve his or her maximum potential as a critical thinker, innovative problem solver, and socially responsible citizen." It serves the College Park, Level Green, College Square, and Eastwick neighborhoods.
As a Title I school, we continue to seek ways to improve the achievement of our at-risk population of students. Monthly Title I parental involvement meetings are held to help parents work with their child at home and a monthly newsletter is published that focuses on reading and math strategies. A comprehensive after school tutoring program has been established for students in grades 3,4, and 5. College Park is proud of its various school programs, partnerships, honors, and awards. The students and staff at College Park continue to strive for academic excellence.
